Narcotics, Psychotropic and Addictive Substances, or more often abbreviated as Napza, refers to a group of compounds that generally have an addiction risk for its users. Napza is also known as drugs. According to health experts, drugs are actually compounds commonly used to anesthetize patients when they want to surgery or drugs for certain diseases. But now the perception is misinterpreted due to use outside the proper allocation and dose.
Narcotics are substances or drugs derived from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semi-synthetic that can cause decreased or altered consciousness, loss of pain and can cause dependence (Law No. 35 of 2009). How it works affects the nervous system that can make us feel nothing, even if our body parts are hurt though. Narcotics are classified into three groups as set forth in Appendix 1 of the law. Which includes narcotics are:
- Papaver plants, raw opium, opium cook (opium, jicing, jicingko), drug opium, morphine, cocaine, ekgonina, cannabis plants, and marijuana resin.
- Salts and derivatives of morphine and cocaine, as well as mixtures and preparations containing the aforesaid material.
Psychotropic substances or drugs are either natural or synthetic non-narcotics, efficacious psychoactive through selective effect on the central nervous system that causes changes in mental activity and behavior (Law 5/1997). There are four classes of psychotropic according to the law, but after the enactment of Law no. 35 of 2009 on narcotics, the psychotropic groups I and II were included in the narcotics class. Thus at this time when talking about psychotropic issues only concerning psychotropic groups III and IV according to Law no. 5/1997. Psychotropic substances are also referred to as other substances that do not contain narcotics, are artificial or engineering made by regulating the chemical structure. May affect or change the mental state and behavior of the wearer. Substances that include psychotropic include:
- Sedatin (Pill BK), Rohypnol, Magadon, Valium, Mandrax, Amfetamine, Fensiklidin, Metakualon, Metifenidate, Phenobarbital, Flunitrazepam, Ecstasy, Shabu-shabu, LSD (Lycergic Syntetic Diethylamide) and so on.
- Type Psychotropic is often associated with the term Amphetamine, where Amphetamine there are 2 types of MDMA (methyl dioxy methamphetamine) is known by the name of ecstasy. Another name is fantacy pils, inex. Then another type is Methamphetamine that works longer than MDMA (can reach 12 hours) and its hallucinations are stronger. Also called shabu, SS, ice.

Addictive substances are substances that can make addiction if consumed regularly. Hazardous addictive substances include natural, semi-synthetic or synthetic materials that can be used instead of morphine or cocaine which can disrupt the central nervous system, such as:
- Alcohols containing ethyl ethanol, inhalen / sniffing (an solvent) are organic (carbon) substances that produce the same effect as those produced by alcoholic beverages or anaesthetic drugs if the aroma is smoked. Examples: glue / adhesive, aceton, ether and so on.
- Nicotine
- Caffeine
- Substance Designer
